Open positions

One PhD position is available in our group starting from January 2025 to work on a very exciting project that aims at developing Interactive Biomaterials for Neural Regeneration (InteReg project) after a traumatic injury such as a spinal cord injury or a neurodegenerative disease such as Multiple sclerosis. InteReg is an interdisciplinary consortium that just got funded by the Carl Zeiss Stiftung. If you are interested to join our group to work on this project, please send to Claire Jacob (cjacob@uni-mainz.de) your CV, letter of motivation, a detailed summary of your Master's thesis and the name of at least two references.

Bachelor and Master students interested in joining our lab for their project should contact Claire Jacob (cjacob@uni-mainz.de)

We can offer projects on the following topics:

- Control of axonal regeneration and remyelination by transcription and epigenetic factors

- Functions of glial cells in axonal regeneration and maintenance of integrity

- Interaction between neurons/glial cells and artificial biomaterials to promote axonal regeneration and remyelination
